About the Samsung Galaxy A71 Unlocked
The A71 was Samsung's upper mid-range phone at the start of the decade, and it was well specified for its class. The 6.7-inch screen is one of the largest in the A range, and at 7.7 mm and 179 g it stays slim and manageable despite the size. There is 6GB of RAM, which is more than most phones at this level carry, and storage can be expanded with a microSD card of up to 1 TB. The rear camera has four lenses covering wide, ultrawide, macro and depth, and the 32 MP front camera is unusually high resolution for selfies and video calls. A 4500 mAh battery and a 3.5 mm headphone jack round it out. It suits a straightforward user who wants a big screen and plenty of storage.

Things to consider
This is the oldest phone in the range and it shows in one important way: both its major operating system updates and its security patches have now ended, so it will not receive new software. It is a 4G device, so there is no 5G. There is no wireless charging, and it takes a physical nano-SIM rather than an eSIM. Anyone who wants current software support or the fastest data speeds should choose a newer model.
Is the Samsung Galaxy A71 a good buy?
It depends on what the phone is for. As a spare handset, a work phone, a first phone for a younger user, or a device for calls, messaging, music and video, it still delivers a large screen, ample memory and expandable storage. As a main phone meant to last several more years, the end of software support is a real drawback and worth weighing carefully. Buy it for the hardware and the price bracket, not for longevity.
