Sizes first

The S24 is the small one and the easiest to use single-handed. The S24 Plus stretches the screen and the battery. The S24 Ultra is the largest of the group, with a flat display and a titanium frame. The S24 FE lands between the standard and Plus in size while asking less of your budget.

Where the Ultra separates itself

The Ultra is the only one of the four with the S Pen built into the body, and it carries the most capable camera system in the generation, including a very high-resolution main sensor and longer optical zoom. If you photograph anything at a distance, or you write and mark up on a screen, that is where the money goes.

What about the FE?

The Fan Edition delivers most of the generation's day-to-day feel with more modest hardware. For messaging, browsing, streaming and ordinary photography, the difference from the standard S24 is smaller than the gap in price suggests.

Picking one

If you have no strong feelings about cameras, the S24 or S24 FE will not disappoint you. If battery life is your recurring frustration, take the Plus. If photography or the S Pen is the point, take the Ultra. Every unit is graded Excellent, Good or Fair, with batteries tested and replaced below 83% health.
