About the iPhone 15 Pro Max Unlocked
Released in September 2023, the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the largest of that year's Pro models, built around a 6.7-inch display at 1290 x 2796 pixels. The rear camera is a triple arrangement: a 48 MP wide sensor, a 12 MP ultrawide, and a 12 MP periscope telephoto that reaches further than a conventional zoom lens, which helps with distant subjects that would otherwise need cropping. Behind it sits 8GB of RAM and a 4441 mAh battery. This is the generation where Apple moved to a USB Type-C connector, so it shares cables with most modern laptops and tablets, and wireless charging runs at 15W over both MagSafe and Qi2. At 221 g it is a little lighter than the Pro Max that came before it. Nano-SIM and eSIM are both supported.

Things to consider
Storage is chosen at purchase and cannot be expanded later, as there is no microSD slot, and there is no headphone jack. At 221 g and 6.7 inches this remains a large phone, and one-handed use takes some getting used to. The USB Type-C port runs at USB 2.0 speeds, so moving large video files over a cable is slower than the connector might suggest. Major feature updates are estimated to end in September 2031, with security updates expected to continue until September 2033.
