Things to consider
This is the Wi-Fi model, so it has no SIM tray and cannot connect to a mobile network on its own. Away from Wi-Fi it needs a phone hotspot. Storage is fixed at purchase, as there is no microSD support, and charging is over Lightning rather than USB-C, so it will not share a cable with newer devices. With 3GB of RAM it handles everyday apps rather than demanding creative work, and it has reached the end of its major operating system updates.
Is the iPad 9th Gen a good buy?
For everyday tablet use, it is a sound one. Reading, streaming, browsing, school assignments and long video calls are all comfortably within its range, the screen is genuinely good, and the battery life is excellent. Anyone who needs mobile data on the move, plans to run heavy creative apps, or wants the newest software features should look at a newer model instead. For the household tablet that gets picked up every evening, this one still does the job well.

After having bad luck with a refurbished i-Phone from Amazon I was very lucky to find Need-a-Phone. I reviewed their listings for a refurbished iPhone 13 mini and was delighted with the result.
