This is the most affordable corner of our catalogue: nothing here passes $150. The selection is deliberately small and currently holds the iPhone 7, the iPhone 8, the Samsung Galaxy A10e and the Galaxy A32 5G, alongside our optional protection plan.
What you get, and what you give up
You get a real, working, fully unlocked smartphone that has been opened up, tested and graded rather than sold as-is. Calls, texts, WhatsApp, maps, banking apps, music, a camera good enough for everyday snapshots. What you give up is speed under heavy load, low-light photo quality, and the assurance of years more software updates. Nobody should buy at this level expecting flagship behaviour, and nobody needs to pretend otherwise.
Read the grade before the model name
At the bottom of the market, the individual unit matters far more than the badge on the back. Our grades mean something specific:
- Excellent — minimal signs of use, looks close to new.
- Good — light marks visible on close inspection.
- Fair — visible wear on the body or screen, fully functional.
Battery health is the other number to weigh. Every battery is tested, and anything below 83% health is replaced before the phone leaves us, so a Fair-grade phone is cosmetically worn, not worn out.
Sensible reasons to buy down here
A first phone for a child. A spare that lives in the glovebox. A dedicated device for a job site, a rental cottage or a travel trip where losing it would not be a disaster. A stopgap while you save for something better. All of them ship free across Canada with a 90-day warranty and 30 days to change your mind.
If you can stretch a little, under $199 opens up newer models, and trading in an old device can close the gap.
